According to the ESRB, Cyberpunk 2077 includes graphic images and violence, and it has been rated “M” for:
Blood and Gore Intense Violence Nudity Strong Language Strong Sexual Content Use of Drugs and Alcohol
While the ratings page goes into greater detail about what each of those means, many have keyed in on the fact that the game will depict explicit sexual scenes that might make The Witcher 3’s Geralt of Rivia blush, and put his hot-tub sexcapades to shame.
Specifically, Cyberpunk 2077:
Suffice it to say, the grittiness we’ve already seen from Cyberpunk 2077 is just the tip of the iceberg. The remainder of the description makes Night City sound like a place few would visit willingly, where “some locations depict mutilated corpses with open chest cavities and/or exposed organs/entrails.”
Players can encounter events where they have the option to engage in sexual activities with other main characters or prostitutes—these brief sex scenes (from a first-person perspective) depict partially nude characters moaning suggestively while moving through various positions. Some scenes contain brief depictions of thrusting motions; other scenes depict a character’s head moving towards a partner’s crotch.
Perhaps we’ll see more of those areas and scenes with the game’s upcoming online event, Night City Wire, which is part of The Summer Games Fest, taking place in lieu of E3 2020 and other industry events. Though we don’t know exactly what will be shown during the presentation, the name itself seems like a pretty dead giveaway. To this point, we’ve only seen two of the titular city’s six districts.
